In 2025, Vetcare Oy’s Board of Directors has decided to transition drug development operations as a new company. This means that in the future, Vetcare Innovations will be responsible for the Group's drug development projects. The new company is a part of the Vetcare Group and therefore 100% owned by Vetcare.
The aim of incorporation is to accelerate the launch of new product development projects and bring more transparency to both commercial activities and the financing of product development. At the same time, we want to strengthen our commitment to long-term development.
Provivo Oy, part of the Vetcare Group, will serve as the basis for the new Vetcare Innovations company. With the new organisational structure, the aim is that Vetcare Oy's product development experts will transfer to the Vetcare Innovations payroll from the beginning of 2026.
Innovations, responsible development and early model partnerships
Vetcare Innovations has named Veli-Matti Riipinen as its CEO as of 1.6.2025. Riipinen sees great opportunities at Vetcare, but also sees that renewal is inevitable. He believes that the future of the company will be built on partnerships, international thinking and high-level expertise.
"Drug development is not just chemistry or medicine. You must think about the whole path: how to make the product, who will finance it, when will it be ready and who will take it to the market. This all requires a lot of knowledge, collaboration and project management. And that's exactly what I like to do."
Vetcare Innovations is developing a new model of collaboration with other pharmaceutical companies in the future. The aim is to find potential partners even before the final clinical field trials. This will allow us to invest in the finalisation of the product, share the financial risk and enhance commercial collaboration.
