Vetcare was founded in 1992 by three veterinarians with a clear mission: to bring veterinary medicines to the market where there was a need but no supplier. This marked the beginning of a story of determined growth and international expansion.
Today, Vetcare operates in more than 30 countries, delivering products that support animal well-being worldwide – from pharmaceuticals to supplementary feeds and treats. The company has grown from a domestic pioneer into a global expert, developing practical, need-driven solutions tailored specifically for veterinary medicine.
A partnership growing alongside success
Eurofins BPT Finland has had the privilege of being part of Vetcare’s journey since the early 2000s. The collaboration began with the development of ketoprofen products for pain management in cattle and has since evolved into a long-term partnership built on trust.
One of the most significant joint achievements is the development of finrotsole.
When Vetcare needed an effective tablet formulation for finrozole, Eurofins BPT Finland was involved in all key phases of the project – from developing analytical methods to extensive stability studies and finalizing the finished product. In spring 2025, the finrozole product received European marketing authorization, marking a major milestone achieved through long-term, expert collaboration.
Kirsi Tapaila, Director, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial Product Support, comments: “Developing a new molecule and obtaining marketing authorization for it is one of our company’s most significant achievements. This was only possible thanks to excellent collaboration with Eurofins experts – we could not have achieved this on our own.”
Smooth collaboration and shared passion
The collaboration is best described as organic. Dialogue has been open and solution-focused, with both parties contributing strong expertise to the projects. The working atmosphere within the Eurofins team has been described as sincere, approachable, and genuinely solution-driven.
Jukka Ilkka, Scientific Advisor at Eurofins BPT Finland, has worked with Vetcare’s Kirsi Tapaila from the very beginning. According to Jukka, a strong shared passion and commitment to a common goal have characterized the collaboration throughout the decades.
Kirsi agrees: “Over the years, our ways of working with Jukka have become seamlessly aligned, and his knowledgeable and solution-oriented approach has taken our cooperation to a new level. Jukka has been exceptionally easy to reach even in urgent situations, and his commitment and service mindset are among the best in the industry.”
She continues: “Sanna Jäntti focuses on communication in a way that helps the customer clearly understand the sources of costs, enabling transparent and trust-based collaboration. You can always turn to Sanna with questions and receive clear, understandable answers.”
Sanna, Intercompany Sales Manager, also describes the collaboration as straightforward: “Communication with Vetcare has always been easy. We have understood each other well and have been able to discuss even challenging topics openly.”
Looking toward new innovations
Kirsi Tapaila sees the future as full of opportunity: “From Vetcare’s perspective, the future is open to new opportunities and innovations. A strong desire to renew and boldly embrace new directions guides our work as we respond to the challenges of animal well-being. Our long-term, trust-based partnership with Eurofins supports our development and allows us to look toward the future with confidence. New ideas, projects, and continuously evolving research drive us forward toward sustainable growth and high-quality products.”
The collaboration continues actively, particularly in finrozole analytics. Our goal remains the same as it was more than 25 years ago: to develop safe and effective products that improve animal well-being worldwide.
