Vetcare Friends Niina Ekholm

I'm Niina Ekholm, Customer Experience Manager in Vetcare's field sales team.

My role is to take care of clients assigned to me in my area. In practice, this means customer encounters, sales negotiations and product presentations to pharmacies and veterinary clinics.

My motto is, everything doesn't have to be perfect, the most important thing is happiness and remembering to live.

The best thing about my current job is meeting customers. It is always a welcome feeling to go to customers and it is easy to get appointments. As a former buyer in a pharmacy myself, I have knowledge of everyday pharmacy life, which makes it easier to understand, for example, appointment schedules and urgent situations.

The most challenging part of my job is the extensive product repertoire. Although a diverse customer base is a really nice thing, it also brings its own challenges. Each pharmacy or veterinary clinic is different in its needs and methods of operation. In addition, our products require specific knowledge and know-how.

I wish others would know about Vetcare that we have a strong foundation based on research and how we genuinely work for animal welfare. We are a Finnish company founded by three veterinarians. Even before coming here, I sensed from people working at Vetcare that people were doing well here. Now that feeling has only deepened.

I spend my free time with the dog and my spouse, the children have already moved out on their own. Two-year-old Shetland sheepdog Myrsky keeps us moving and there is always plenty to do in the house. We also spend a lot of time at our cottage in the Salo region.

My favorite childhood book was the book "How The Mole Got His Trousers" from the Mole series. Especially the colorful illustrations of the book stuck in my mind.

To young Niina, I would say go for it, it's gone well, of course sometimes you could slow down.

My secret vice is the intensive viewing of Nordic crime series at home alone. It's wonderful to curl up in the corner of the sofa and indulge in the approachable yet very different everyday life of crime and police series.

To my colleagues, I would like to say thank you for being so great! The field team is a tight-knit group, anyone can be called from anywhere, and the conversation always expands to the side of the matter. The rest of the group is also very approachable.

Next, I challenge Kari Laessasaari to Vetcare Friends.
